Giant wind towers lay across the land in every direction and it’s almost the only thing you can see from the autobahn RACEWAY. The highway is lined with tall trees making the drive rather boring since you can see almost nothing past those trees except for the wind towers and cars passing our motorcycle (as we glide at an easy 60mph) going upwards of 80 to 100+mph *wwwwwhoooooossssshhhhhhh* like a buzzing mosquito past my ears looking to suck the life out of me > should we touch. The birds were incredible to watch….large HAWKS everywhere in the sky and in the fields and swarms of small birds flying in huge numbers forming various patterns in the sky. It was quite the site to behold!
It was a misty morning on our drive into Germany….shiver-like cold and everything seemed so overcast monochromatic dark and dull with autumn winds kicking up. Periodically we would pass cornfields that seemed to cover the hillsides for miles. The highway signs were hard to understand but the rest stops were nice, clean and charged you $1 to take a piss…I say Piss Off to that! I have to say I did have a nice LONG Bratwurst Sausage and Pom Frits mit (fries with mayo)!
In both the towns of Hannover in the North and Dresden in the South, we found laden with Graffiti which looked like VooDoo writing…just covering over everything in layers and layers of paint *UGH* and most of everyone’s attire was casual ugly…which seems to be the latest fashion of Europe. The area in Dresden where we stayed was the college area and very hipster with art, loads of restaurants where we ate well, and people watching entertainment FOR SURE! It was super cool coming across some Buskers called ‘Rhiannon’ with Gypsy and Irish music! We even came upon an open mic with Theatrics rather than music and the place was packed!! Our room there was a very cool Mexican style Guest House (kinda hostel), clean, mod and super cute…even with the bunk beds!!
I can be pretty blunt, and I have learned to hold my tongue….BUT….I have to say this, PLEASE don’t be offended, but this is what I experienced……I have never been in one place like Dreden where I saw so many *weirdo ugly strange folks* in all my travels! Just tellin it like I see it….or rather saw it.
I let that slip out….but again, people watching at it’s finest…
